  I went to Dr. Hurd's office with extreme knee pain. My knee has been hurting for over two months. The person checking me in asked me after checking my blood pressure and pulse if I wanted to receive medication or physical therapy. I asked if we could figure out what was wrong with my knee first. I was very clear that my knee was causing me a lot of pain, that I couldn't exercise and wanted an MRI. Today I received a letter from my insurance company explaining that my request for an MRI was denied because the doctor said I had "mild" knee pain and I was exercising regularly.
